At FAMCO, we are proud to recognize the dedication, hard work, and values our team members bring to the table every day. This month, we are thrilled to celebrate Wesley Hollingsworth (Wes) as our Employee of the Month.
Wes has been with FAMCO for over two years, starting as a Warehouse Associate I. Through determination and a willingness to learn, he has grown into his current role as a Warehouse Associate II and is even taking on training to advance to a Warehouse Associate III position. His career path so far is a testament to what dedication and cross-training can achieve at FAMCO.
In his role, Wes’s day are anything but routine. He manages and receives inventory, assists warehouse cells where he wraps pallets, prints shipping labels, and gets shipments ready to go out the door. He’s always adding skills to his ever-growing toolkit. What Wes enjoys most is the autonomy his position allows, finding efficient ways to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
Wes has been nominated for Employee of the Month “more times than he has fingers,” and it was only a matter of time before he earned this recognition. When asked why he believes he was nominated, Wes goes back to his dedication. “I give my best effort at the job and try my best to do it accurately the first time.” He shares that it feels good to be recognized and that he appreciates “that the company acknowledges good work ethic.”
When asked about his favorite part about working at FAMCO, Wes highlighted the number of paid holidays, noting “that no other job has allowed so many holidays”. Wes takes these holidays as an opportunity to relax from his regular busy schedule.
Benefits like this are one of the reasons why Wes encourages new employees to stick around. At previous faceless companies, Wes felt as though he was a number. While at FAMCO, Wes loves that the company’s values are based on a “small business mentality”, with the people at its core. “I feel seen as an individual,” he shares, a quality he finds valuable at FAMCO.
For new employees, Wes also encourages showing up on time, giving your best effort every day, and communicating with your team and how these values “will take you far at FAMCO”. He says “teamwork is about being able to ask for help, no matter how small the task, and stepping in to support colleagues when needed.” He values FAMCO’s family-oriented culture, where everyone is friendly, and it is easy to get along with the team.
Wes hopes to continue growing within FAMCO, with aspirations of stepping into a leadership role one day. Outside of work, he enjoys gaming and spending time with friends. Wes is also currently going back to school for an electrical apprenticeship, a line of work he sees to have endless opportunities available to him.
Regardless of where his journey takes him, Wes sees every day at FAMCO as an opportunity to gain new skills and become a better version of himself.
