Juan Carlos, a dedicated member of the FAMCO team for the past 24 years, has been named Employee of the Month for October 2024. His unwavering commitment to craftmanship, mentorship, and skillful execution of the most complex projects has earned him this recognition.
Juan’s journey at FAMCO began over two decades ago, and through the years, he has honed a level of expertise that allows him to tackle some of the most intricate tasks within the company. As part of the CVR area, he specializes in the creation of complex components that require a unique blend of skill, precision, and creativity. His work is often compared to an art form, with pieces coming together through a combination of manual precision and experience rather than relying solely on machinery.
Over the years Juan has expanded his knowledge, taking on a variety of responsibilities, from preparing materials for his teammates to assembling specialized kits. His precision is particularly evident in his work with wind direction tubes, gable vents, and vacuum caps- specialty items that require exceptional craftmanship. Juan values the variety his role at FAMCO offers. His position allows him to be creative and tackle new challenges every day. “I like to have variety,” he says. “I don’t get stuck in one place. The job allows me to be creative in many different ways.”
Juan Carlos also appreciates the responsibility that comes with his work. In the past, he worked on the production line, where tasks were often unpredictable, requiring quick thinking and adaptability. He recalls how his experiences taught him to handle complex pieces with care—understanding how even the slightest mistake could affect the entire team. This sense of responsibility has shaped his approach to his work and helped him develop a deep respect for precision.
Juan Carlos’ experience and expertise have made him an invaluable mentor to his colleagues. Over the years, he has taken on the role of teaching others, passing on his knowledge of specialized tasks and ensuring that others are equipped with the skills they need to succeed. He credits a former mentor with showing him the ropes early in his career, particularly in learning how to work with measurements and materials. Today, Juan Carlos continues that legacy by mentoring newer employees, including Miguel and Hilario, challenging them to strive for the same level of precision and excellence he has achieved.
When asked why he believes he received the Employee of the Month award, Juan Carlos humbly expressed surprise, but his dedication to his craft and team is evident in his actions every day. This is not the first time he has been recognized—he previously received the award two years ago—but his passion for the work continues to drive him.
Outside of work, Juan Carlos enjoys spending time with his dog, working on his car, and planning his next vacation. His personal hobbies reflect the same hands-on, problem-solving attitude he brings to his professional life.
