Luis Jimenez: Employee of the Quarter
Luis Jimenez has been a prominent part of FAMCO’s success for the last 13 years. His journey at FAMCO has been one of growth, learning, and leadership, starting as an operator and progressing into being an integral part of the engineering team. Luis embodies our core family values every day: investing in the future, challenging the status quo, improving processes, eliminating waste, and embracing change with passion. From the moment he joined our team, he’s shown an unwavering dedication to finding new and better ways to do things. His unwavering commitment, problem-solving skills, and passion for innovation have earned him well-deserved recognition as Employee of the Quarter.
Luis’s career at FAMCO began at the Caldwell facility, where he was part of a small but growing team. Over time, he played a key role in expanding the workforce and fostering a collaborative and supportive work environment. He explains, “The environment was always friendly, and we received the encouragement we needed. I always liked my job at FAMCO because they acknowledged the need to be with our families so we could come to work fresh the next day”.
One of the greatest factors contributing to Luis’s success is the knowledge he has gained from his colleagues. “Everyone has different skills and experiences, and learning from them has helped me grow in my career,” he explains. His role is dynamic, ranging from training new employees and creating programs for equipment to stepping in and assisting operators when needed.
Luis’s favorite part of his job is working with new equipment. One of his more recent opportunities is programing a new robot from start to finish, a challenge he is tackling with enthusiasm. His curiosity and drive to learn keep him motivated. “I’m still at the beginning of my career in engineering, and I’m excited to see what comes next,” he says.
His dedication to problem-solving is one of the reasons he believes he received this award. “I never give up on projects. If I don’t know how to do something, I ask questions and always find a way to get it done. I never leave a project halfway through.” This mindset has made a significant impact on FAMCO, especially when he successfully standardized warehouse box sizes-a project that had been started a decade ago but never got completed. Although Luis has had his own challenges, like taking on the responsibilities of learning our newest machine, he has persevered. Now mastering the machine, Luis proves that persistence leads to success.
Luis credits much of his success to FAMCO’s supportive culture. “What makes FAMCO unique is the way they treat their employees. I’ve worked at other places, and it’s just not the same. There’s flexibility, growth opportunities, and a strong emphasis on safety.” The company’s values resonate deeply with him, emphasizing the importance of taking care of employees, their families, and creating a positive team environment.
Outside of work, Luis enjoys spending time with his wife and children, going four-wheeling, camping, and watching movies. He also finds relaxation in his garage, organizing, cleaning cars and listening to music. “Work-life balance is important because it allows me to relax and come back refreshed the next day,” he emphasizes.
Looking to the future, Luis has set ambitious goals for himself. He aims to master all of the equipment on the production floor to better support his team and improve efficiency. Additionally, he is eager to pursue an engineering class to expand his technical expertise further.
Being named Employee of the Quarter is an exciting milestone for Luis. “It feels really good because it shows that the company notices and appreciates the hard work we put in. They don’t let achievements go unrecognized.”
