Description

The FAMCO RDWVG wall vent and reversible backdraft damper kit is primarily used for air intake, air supply, or exhaust applications. This vent is not rated for dryer ventilation, the screen will trap lint and could create a fire risk. Quality constructed from heavy-duty 28 gauge galvanized steel. This kit comes with a gasketed backdraft damper that can be oriented in the duct run for either intake or exhaust, and a hooded wall vent with a shorter 4½ inch tube and ⅛ inch insect screen to prevent duct intrusion by birds and many kinds of insects. An economical solution for air balance. Provides supplemental combustion air intake. Ideal for spot ventilation needs.

I would like to install this in my laundry room so that my dryer does not Backdraft my traditional open fireplace. The question is whether the dryer exhaust will open the damper yet on stormy days will the damper stay closed against strong winds? David W Sobodos asked on May 27, 2021
