The FAMCO WVEBA Hooded Wall Vent With Screen, Damper, Spring & Gasket. The WVEBA Wall Vent is made with a spring loaded damper, gasket and screen. This vent cap is used as an exhaust vent and has a removable screen. Large hood design prevents restricted air flow. Quality crafted of Heavy Duty .020 Aluminum. The FAMCO WVEBA Hooded Wall Vent includes a ¼ inch screen to prevent pests from getting in and a built in damper on a light spring for opening and closing the vent. The WVEBA is available in sizes ranging from 3 inch to 10 inch (the size refers to the diameter of the pipe). The FAMCO WVEBA Hooded Wall Vent is manufactured by FAMCO in the United States and comes with a 1-year warranty against product defects and workmanship.     We do not currently manufacture a vent designed to work with this diameter opening.
    2. If mounted vertically (facing downward) is the spring strong enough to keep the damper closed? If not, do you have something you would recommend? Application is bathroom shower vent that leaves the house under an overhand facing toward the ground in New England, so damper is important in the winter.

    You will want to check with your range hood manufacture to see which duct size they recommend, but we would recommend our 10" model for a 1,000 CFM range hood.

    The damper can only be removed by cutting off the plastic tabs holding it in place on either side of the vent, so it can be removed, but cannot be reinstalled once removed.

    The screen on this vent is removable, so if you were to use it for dryer exhaust the screen would need to be removed. This would prevent a fire hazard caused by lint buildup.

    Typically we would recommend ordering galvanized steel models, as Galvanized Steel will grip paint much more easily than Aluminum.

    Due to limited space I needed a 3-inch exhaust wall vent for the convection microwave and induction stovetop in our new basement kitchenette. This isn’t a size I could find at Ace Hardware or the box stores. What I received was very well designed and manufactured. In addition to the spring assisted damper, I really liked the 8-1/4th inch galvanized pipe that extended through the wall so I didn’t have to mess with difficult connections to the vent. I ordered this last Sunday and it arrived Thursday. Great product and value. My only suggestion to FAMCO is to list this product on Ebay since nothing offered out of Asia compared. I was lucky I found this company while searching the net. Thanks!

    This is exactly what I’d hoped it would be. Worked perfectly for our exhaust fan over the stove. The spring tension on the damper allows it to open about 2 inches when the fan is on low and fully open when on high. Closes securely when the fan is off. Made in the U.S.A. too. What else can you ask for. Good job guys.
