Very well made, and with a little elbow grease can be adapted to meet the California WUI standards. You just bend up the side folds a bit, slide out the galvanized screen and replace it with a stainless steel 10-mesh screen then use a rawhide mallet to bang the side folds back into place. Since the stainless is woven, not welded, a bead of high-temperature silicone caulk will make it more securely fixed in the frame. This was my first of six ... the caulk isn't beautiful, but you get the idea.

Exactly what I needed. I just wasn't exactly clear on the color/finish, but that was fine as it was easily paintable.

  3. Nice product. Well fabricated. Only problem was that I wanted a reverse (horizontal) vent. My return was simple and accommodating.

Q
Can your louvered attic vents 24 x 24" be mounted on the inside? With the louvers pointing downward to shed the rain that falls outside ? Jane Harbuck asked on October 1, 2021
A

Yes - our "flange on back" models are designed to be installed from the interior. All of our louvered gable vents have fixed louvers angled downwards.

Q
I am confused by the "W" and "H" dimensions shown on the isometric drawing above. These dimensions appear to show the rough opening required. I need two vents where the rough opening is 14"x 20". Is the vent I need a GV1218 ? Thanks in advance for your time. Philip Beard asked on August 11, 2021
A

our 14x20" vent would be designed for a 14x20" opening,  and would include a 1" flange on all sides for mounting.

Q
What size does the rough opening need to be for the 14x16 gable vent? Adam asked on April 14, 2021
A

at least 14" x 16" to fit the vent - our 14" x 16" gable vent will have a 1" flange on all sides, so the total dimensions of the vent including the 1" flange would be 16" x 18"
