The FAMCO FA50 Plastic Roof Vent with 50 square inch net free area is made of high density polyethylene (HDP), one of the most versatile and widely used plastics available. This plastic vent contains UV inhibitors which help protect the material from deteriorating in the sunlight. These vents are resistant to cold, heat, and ultraviolet rays. Perfect for attic ventilation, this vent features a 50 square inch opening. Works best when used with a soffit or gable end venting. The FA50 roof vent has a ¼ inch plastic molded screen built into the hood to prevent bird nesting. This product is a standard residential roof vent with 50 square inches of free area. Available in black or dark brown.

    No - we do not currently manufacture or supply vents with a flange designed for use on metal roofs

    Hello Walter, here is a copy of our installation instructions for these plastic vents. do not use any tar or petroleum based adhesives when installing this vent, and we recommend against using caulk unless it is necessary.

    This vent can be used on anything from 1/12 up to 12/12 pitched roofs - this vent is not recommended for use on a flat roof.

    No - the top of this product is molded into the flange and is not designed to be removable.
