The FAMCO BKXCU bathroom fan / kitchen exhaust roof vent with extension is designed for use with bathroom or kitchen exhaust venting systems. This roof mounted vent comes with a built-in hinged damper to prevent backdraft, and includes a removable ¼ screen to prevent hood access by birds and many insects. Quality constructed from heavy-duty 16 ounce, 24 gauge copper. This model includes a 3 inch long pipe extension beneath the flange for connection to flex tubing, please see our BKCU series for the model without pipe extension. This vent is not intended for roof top dryer termination. The FAMCO BKXCU bathroom fan / kitchen exhaust roof vent with extension come for pipe sizes ranging from 4 inch - 10 inch. Yes, this vent can be used for kitchen hood exhaust through the roof.

I have been doing a look see on these bathroom vents...most are made flimsy and the dampers do not operate correctly via sticking open. I see this copper vent seems to be a higher quality other than the metal its made out of, construction wise. My question is seeing there is No returns on these if the damper is of a quality that the damper opens and close as it supposed to. I will pay for good quality but do not want a sub standard product that I will be stuck with. So Is this vent a cut above the other production models as far as quality in workmanship and function ? Thanks John

Decent product

Bought 2 for bath exhaust fan. Expensive. Better if metal would be heavier gauge. A longer hose connection stem would make hose attachment easier. 3″ is not a lot after roof deck penetration. Solid riveting and assembly except the connection flange from top piece to base is better soldered for added leak protection. I did that before final install on all 3 flanges. Flapper closes evenly and flush. Screen seems adequate. Very nice low profile.
