At FAMCO, we pride ourselves on the dedication, skill, and positive attitude our team members bring to work every day. This month, we’re thrilled to recognize Olivia Cervantes as our Employee of the Month!
Olivia has been with FAMCO for four years, working in the Lasers department. Her role involves cutting parts and programming the laser machine to ensure precision and efficiency in production. While the job is second nature to her now, she admits it was a challenge to learn in the beginning. “At first it was confusing,” she says. “But now, it’s not difficult.”
So what sets Olivia apart? In her own words, she isn’t entirely sure. “I just always show up and do the same amount of work,” she says modestly. But her consistency, reliability, and quiet excellence haven’t gone unnoticed. “It feels amazing,” she says about receiving the award, “it was a complete surprise”.
One of Olivia’s favorite parts about working at FAMCO is the uplifting environment. “You come in, and everyone is smiling,” she says. “No one is giving off bad vibes. People are friendly and have fun.” This positive workplace culture is something Olivia values deeply and something she contributes to every day.
When asked what advice she would give to someone new at FAMCO, Olivia is quick to point out the opportunity. “There are a lot of good opportunities and benefits to take advantage of,” she says. “Stick with the company, and you will get rewarded.”
Olivia’s approach to teamwork is simple but powerful: “Everybody working on the same page.” She appreciates that everyone at FAMCO is open to new ideas, and that collaboration is part of the culture. “If someone has a different idea, they look into it and figure out what’s easier and works best,” she says, adding that she feels safe sharing her own ideas with the team.
One challenge Olivia faced early on was learning to operate the forklift. Something she was initially afraid of. But through two sessions of hands-on training, she built the confidence and skills to master it safely. It’s a perfect example of her quiet determination and willingness to grow.
Outside of work, Olivia enjoys hiking around Twin Falls with a friend. After a long day, her favorite way to unwind is simple: relaxing with a cup of coffee.
