This month, FAMCO is proud to recognize Kavan Martin as our Employee of the Month! Kavan is a familiar voice to our Customer Service Department, specializing in our roofing products. He has been a dedicated member of the FAMCO family for the last 8 years and reflects on his commitment to excellence and a willingness to go beyond his role.
Kavan is the bridge between FAMCO and our customers, taking on tasks like answering emails and phone calls, providing quotes, processing returns, and resolving any issues related to orders or customer specifications. While his primary focus is roofing, Kavan’s knowledge extends to our web and HVAC-related support as well. His adaptability and broad knowledge base make him an invaluable asset to both the customer service team and the company at large.
Kavan’s unmatched dedication to teamwork is one of the many reasons he stood out as FAMCO’s Employee of the Month. Kavan is one of the few employees on our team that has worked in multiple departments, and this background enables him to make informed decisions and support others across the organization. Whether he’s helping out in the warehouse or lending his expertise with our product ordering system, Kavan is always willing to do more than what’s expected of him.
Kavan’s career path at FAMCO is a testament to the power of persistence and a willingness to grow. His career with FAMCO started in our JVO cell, before moving into the warehouse to work in our parcel department. Before long, Kavan was handling forklift operations, then training, and running inventory control. His strong performance eventually opened the door to a role on the customer service team, where he continues to thrive.
When asked what advice he would give to someone looking to grow with FAMCO, Kavan emphasizes patience and persistence. “Stay persistent. It takes time,” he says. “Learn as much as you can, have a goal in mind, and always try to be helpful.” It’s with this attitude that has helped him grow in his career and progress within FAMCO.
One way Kavan is staying motivated is with the mindset of providing for his family. With a baby on the way, Kavan now has a new purpose and is driven in his daily routine. He hopes to build a secure future for his growing family.
For Kavan, the best part of working at FAMCO is the people. He genuinely enjoys the camaraderie and close-knit environment, where everyone knows each other and is always ready to lend a hand. He finds fulfillment in the strong workplace culture, describing it as fun, and where everyone can share a laugh but still accomplish their tasks for the day.
Outside of work, Kavan stays active and uses his time off to the fullest. He is an avid tennis player, having played in college and currently participating in various competitions like the district tennis tournament with his club team. He also enjoys swimming, hiking, and floating the river. When it’s time to relax, you might find him at a concert soaking in the music and good vibes.
Kavan puts an emphasis on FAMCO’s family value of “we win when the customer wins”, saying it is a principle that guides his daily work.
