Q
My chimney is 9.25" outside diameter, do I need to buy a 10" that will have a 3/4" gap, or a 9" and slam in on hoping it don't break? Scott asked on October 10, 2021
A

Hello,

Most people would likely go with the 10" model and come up with some sort of shim to fill that 3/4" gap. Otherwise, if you were to get one of our Chimney Caps without the Screen in it then it would come with an adjustable collar and you may be able to get 1/4" play out of it, in which case you could probably get away with using a 9" model. The caps with the screens though do not have those adjustable collars. So you're best options are going to be to use the 10" model with the screen and come up with some sort of shim(s), or get the 9" model without the screen and just install your own type of screen/meshing on it after it's installed if you really need that on there.

You would fix this cap over outside of your flue pipe. for additional secureness, you may use sheet metal screws as needed

Q
My pipe measures 6"5/8. What size will fit? Alan Crites asked on December 20, 2020
A

No - these caps will not fit odd pipe sizes, they will be too tight or too lose.
