  3. So far, so good. Installation took about 15 minutes. The vent operates as expected. We will see how it does when the winter comes as this product replaced a vent from another vendor that stuck open in freezing temperatures.
The cover was somewhat difficult to remove as it is a tight fit. I used a small screwdriver to slowly and and carefully work my way around the cover prying it off until it released. Reinstalling it was not a problem as it snaps back into place with a little persuasion. There were no separate written instructions, but there are instructions imbedded on the vent itself as to the correct orientation.

Q
So...if it hangs underneath the soffit, the damper is spring loaded to close when the bathroom exhaust fan is off...am I correct? Thomas F Smith asked on November 2, 2020
A

While it is not spring loaded, the damper is slightly weighted on one end that rests on a small peg, closing the damper until the force of the exhaust pivots the damper open.
