The FAMCO SDWVP wall vent is a hooded wall vent that is primarily used for air exhaust applications. This vent is not rated for dryer ventilation, the screen will trap lint and could create a fire risk. Quality constructed from heavy duty 28 gauge pre-painted galvanized steel, available in black, brown, or white. The FAMCO SDWVP wall vent includes a ¼ inch insect screen to prevent duct intrusion by birds and many kinds of insects, as well as a built-in hinged backdraft damper.

  1. Ordered a hooded wall vent with damper. Came on time and looks pretty good overall. The damper installation is a bit crooked on two different axes which is disappointing, but otherwise seems ok.

    This product does not come powder coated - it is a pre-painted finish galvanized steel

    Hello Jonathan, if the vent was installed perfectly flush, this should not typically happen - if the vent is installed in a way that exposes the damper directly to the wind, we would recommend adding a small weight to the damper to help with this.
