The FAMCO WVEBP Hooded Wall Vent with Spring Loaded Damper, Gasket, and Screen, Painted can be used for air exhaust. The WVEBP allows for less restriction of air flow. This hooded wall vent is quality constructed from Heavy Duty 28 gauge pre-painted steel.
The FAMCO WVEBP comes with a ¼ inch removable screen and spring loaded damper with gasket. Available in sizes 3 inch to 10 inch. Size reflects diameter of pipe. Colors available are black, brown, and white. The pre-painted white is typically what we would recommend, although the unfinished galvanized can also be painted over easily.
Hi,
I am drying to replace two (2) 6" bathroom exhaust vents. I would like to have a vent that has a move able flap that would allow for exhaust when required and drops closed when not in use thereby preventing humidity to go back into the bathroom. Is this the proper vent or do you have a better idea?

The moveable flap you are looking for is what we call a damper, and this wall vent model does have a damper that is designed to open when exhausting and fall back closed when not in use.Â

I have a basement bathroom that currently has an old NUTONE 8060 vent fan to the outside cinderblock NUTONE wall vent (~2.5' away). The vent opening is 9". Perhaps this is an old standard that is no longer used? I wish to keep the fan, to keep the bath historically accurate. Do you recommend reducing, increasing, or is it an option that I don't see in the drop-down list?

We would recommend asking the fans manufacturer which would be better for this application - typically, you would not want to reduce this down, as this could strain the fan. We do not currently manufacture a 9" wall vent.

These vents will typically ship UPS or FedEx Ground, which typically takes 1-5 business days transit time after they have been manufactured and have shipped, varying by location.

This will depend on the strength of your bathroom fan, but in most cases this should be fine.
I'm exhausting a down draft stove fan. Existing duct is 6" but not easily accessible for mating to the 8" tube off the back. Tight fit is not critical. Can I get just the box/damper/screen without the back tube or if not, can I cut it off flush?

While we do not currently offer this vent without the 8-1/4" tube, this tube can be trimmed back or cut off entirely/made flush as needed without reducing the functionality of the hood, damper, and screen.
Can the spring-loaded damper on the hooded wall vent be reversed so it can be used as an air intake? If not do you have anything similar for shed ventilation (500 cubic ft shed) that will be used in combination with an AC Infinity Airlift 10 shutter exhaust fan.

The damper in the WVEB model cannot be reversed to function as an air intake. However, our RDWVG vent may work for you as it comes with a reversible backdraft damper.Â

The damper in these vents will open to allow air flow as low as 5-15 CFM, so these should work fine with your fan.
My crawl space mounted gas furnace exhausts through the brick wall via PVC pipe. Would this be appropriate if I cut the PVC flush with the wall and slipped this over the PVC? Looking for a more finished look.

Typically the PVC pipe exhausting your furnace would not be capped off this way, so we would not recommend adding a wall cap to this piped exhaust application.
I have a contoured exterior wall and the Famco hooded wall vent will not sit flush on the wall. Do you sell a mounting block or is your product best suited for new construction (before the siding is installed)?

This vent is typically installed beneath the siding, you may have to remove or trim a small section of siding to get the vent to sit flush against the wall, depending on the type of siding you have. We do not sell mounting blacks for our wall vents.

after looking for weeks for a jenn-air replacement, i finally found this site, and how glad was i. ordered a 6″ painted black vent. i was very impressed with the quality of construction first. opps!i ordered wrong color, but, opted to paint myself. installation was great, and looks fantastic. i did this for a friend, and he is extremely happy. will keep this name if i ever need another one. thank you!
