Would the LH7 vent also function to terminate a range hood exhaust ?

You could use this vent for range exhaust, although this vent will not include any built in screen, and is typically used for dryer ventilation. For range exhaust, we would recommend our hooded wall vent with spring loaded damper:

Good quality , except the upper louver can only open half way
The larger wall vents are hard to find. It fits perfectly on my 8″ duct. The only complaint is the louvers seem to stick at first. I had to “work” them for awhile to loosen them up.
Exact size replacement of my 17-year-old louvered vent. I like the color choices; the brown color was not available in the local home improvement stores.
